PHOENIX, AZ – On April 19, almost three dozen teams filled the fields of Victory Lane and Desert West softball complexes in Phoenix to remember Pat Tillman the best way they know how...doing their best at what they know best...softball. The event was Tournament Sport’s Third Annual Pat Tillman benefit and a portion of the proceeds were donated to the Pat Tillman Foundation. The tournament was just one of several events to take place in the Phoenix area over the weekend in Pat Tillman’s memory.
In the Men’s E 1 Division, the Retreads came out on top going undefeated in four games. In second place was the Arizona Sickness going 4-2 and in third place it was Outkast going 2-2. Action Pak’d took fourth place going 3-3 and the Swoopers swooped in for a fifth place finish going 2-2. Baller Nation tied for fifth place with the Swoopers. Rounding out the field were the Good Fellas and the Regulators tied for seventh.
In the Men’s E 2 Division, Tucson’s Commission went 5-1 to take the title. Mayhem took second place with a 3-2 winning percentage. The Squirrels came down from Parker, Arizona to nab third place for their efforts with a 4-2 record. Taking fourth place were the Jaguars also going 4-2. In fifth place there was a tie between the Hot Boyz at 3-2 and the Phoenix Yard Dogs at 2-2. Tied for seventh place were The Other Guys at 2-2 and the Hellions at 1-3. There were four teams knotted up in a tie for ninth place - the Aztecs, Havoc, Don’t Cry and DOA.
Lost Cause took the title in the Co-ed D/D1 Division going 4-0. In second place, Team Bohica went 3-2. Disturbed earned third place with a 2-2 finish and Hit-N-It went 1-2 to finish fourth. Nuts N Bolts earned fifth place with a 1-2 record followed by the Unforgiven in sixth place with a 1-4 record.
In the Co-ed E Division, Nemesis went 3-1 to take first place. Get Over It couldn’t quite get over Nemesis coming up with second place going 4-1. Chaos went 2-3 and took third while the Santisi Brothers were battling for fourth place with a 3-2 record. The Latinos went 6-2 earning fifth place and Fusion came in sixth while the Dodgers took seventh both with 0-7 records.
