OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Teams from the Western U.S. made their presence known at the
2007 Hooters Championship Series held September 28-29 at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, OK.

The four teams competing for the Men’s Class D title played three pool play games and were seeded into a single elimination bracket. No. 1 seed White’s Lawn Care/Riverdogs, from Wake Forest, NC proved they were indeed number one as they finished undefeated to capture the championship. The road to the top included victories over the 3 Legged Monkeys (South El Monte, CA), Lugo’s Heavy Hitters/Mar Designs (Mission, TX) and Storm/Bosch Financial (Cedar Rapids, IA). The finals pitted the Riverdogs against the number three seed Lugo’s and with a five run first inning the Riverdogs jumped into the lead and never looked back, finishing with a 12-9 victory.

In the Men’s Class C division, Team Logo from Commerce, GA swept the series with a 3-0 record over the Hara’s/Casa Group Worth team from Salem, OR.

C-Town/American Funding/Red Rock/Easton from Boise, ID was the Northwest representative in the Men’s Class B division. They pushed the series to a game five against Bertie’s/Hub City Glass/Miken out of Elizabethtown, KY. C-Town won game one 17-5 but Berties came back winning games two and three by seven runs each. C-Town kept the series going with a game four win to ever the match at two games each. Bertie’s proved too tough in the finale with a dominating 21-11 victory.
The best-of-the-best were the Men’s “A” champions, Long Haul Trucking and Chaney’s Pytch Black. In the finale Long Haul Trucking stomped Chaney’s Pytch Black, 33-5.

Fraley’s Wildcats from Lexington, KY took the Women’s Class C division by a 3-1 margin over WTS Softball Crew from Lancaster, CA. Down two games to none, WTS came up big in game three winning 14-2 to push the series to game four. Fraley’s was not to be denied as they won handily 11-3.
In 2002, Hooters became the official sponsor for the men’s division. Champion teams from each division, from all over the country, who win qualifying events are flown to Oklahoma City, OK (all expenses paid) to play in the “best-of-the-best” tournament. This year, there have been a couple of changes for the women’s and men’s divisions. The women’s division now matches the format of the men’s division and the men’s “D” division is now split up into four territorial championships (north, south, east and west) instead of just the east and west territories it was in previous years.
