Softball West teams up with WSL makes Challenge Tourney a Vegas qualifier
By Softball West
The World Softball League an organization that has a TV show (Softball 360), a radio show (360-Radio) and a home run hitters series (The Long Haul Bombers Tour), is teaming up with Softball West Magazine to make it's June event a qualifer for the West Coast Championships in Las Vegas. This is some exciting news for us said Tom Smedes SWM publisher. The magazine's 24th annual Challenge on June 23 and 24 will now be a qualifier for the World Softball League Miken Championship series.
The top five teams from each division will have the chance to play in any of the three Miken Championship tournaments in Shakopee, MN on Aug. 10-12, Las Vegas, NV on Aug. 24-26 and in Panama City Beach, FL on Sept. 7-9. Though most locals will probably want to play in Vegas. Not only qualifying for the series is awesome, but check this out – over $100 thousand in prizes will be awarded at the events, including trophies, gift-cards, apparel and cash. The tournaments are open to any "B-E," and "Rec" divisions, with "A," Co-Ed, and Women's divisions offered in some of the events.
Besides housing the Miken Championship series, WSL is the home of the Long Haul Bombers who perform in Major League Baseball Parks across the nation for their WSL Stadium Power tours.
Softball 360, the television and radio station for WSL follows the Miken series in detail. This is your chance to be a real star – not only could your team make it in print if they qualify but they might make it on air as well.
