3rd annual Livestrong Cancer Benefit Tourney

GLENDALE, AZ - The third annual Livestrong Cancer Benefit was held at Victory Lane Sports Park on Jan. 7. Fifty-five teams started the year off competing in four Men’s and five Coed divisions. The first 50 teams received a dozen yellow Livestrong wristbands and a portion of the proceeds were donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer research. The top two teams in each division received Worth team “Prostyle” jerseys with name and numbers and a plaque, while third place teams were awarded long-sleeved T’s.

Hitter’s Row took first in the Men’s “C-D” Division, followed by Lights Out in second and Madd Skills in third. Showtime won top honors in the Men’s White Division over Age Matters, followed by third-place Misioneros. The Men’s “E” Division was controlled by Don’t Cry, finishing 4 - 0, with Desert Rats taking second place and Yomomma placing third. The undefeated Retreads topped the Enforcers to take first in the Men’s “D2” Division, while Get Some came in third.

Mixed Nuts won the championship in the Coed White Division with a record of 5-0. Second place went to Nacho Mamas & Pappas, with RBI/Trouble taking third. First place honors in the Coed Blue Division went to Balls Deep; XXX Strykes placed second and MWSN took third place. The Coed “C” Division champs were Diablos with AZ Rapid in second. Chaos won first place in the Coed “D” Division, followed by Team Bohica in second and Lost Cause in third. Caught Looking captured first in the Coed Purple Division, Save It took second, and third place went to Softball Hookers.

The next benefit tournament is the Presidential Classic at Rose Mofford and Papago Sports Complexes the first weekend in February, which benefits the Phoenix Park Foundation.
