RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – A & V Softball Tournaments held men’s qualifiers in four divisions on Jan. 27. Three divisions were played at Quakes Stadium in Rancho Cucamonga with a total of 23 teams while over at Southridge Park in Fontana seven teams battled for top honors.
“This tournament gave teams a chance to see and play against teams in not only their division but also the next level up,” said Al Acosta, A & V Owner. Since the top four finishers in each division earned a berth to all the A & V major tournaments, they can now adjust their rosters with player changes. “Teams can change anywhere from three to five players but they must play together in a tournament with the new players before playing in a major tournament, and the teams must let me know who the new players are,” added Acosta. “The berth is the team berth because they earned it. We can move the team up or leave them in the same division.”
In Division 3, Connecta from Los Angeles, CA, were 4 - 0 to to win first place. Team Ruckus from Rancho Cucamonga were 3 - 2 to take second, with Helmets/Pitbulls from Los Angeles also 3 - 2 taking third. Fourth place went to Team OGR from Apple Valley with a record of 2 - 2.
