Team Cuz are Champs at A&V ’Bash 4 Cash’ Finals

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - A&V Tournaments held it’s fourth and final men’s A&V/Worth ‘Bash 4 Cash’ for the season on August 13, 2005 at Quakes Stadium in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Thirteen of the top A&V men’s ’D’ teams battled all day long for the top two money prizes along with the top four Worth prize packages.

Team Cuz from Redondo Beach, CA went 5-0 to win the tournament and take the top money prize of $1500.00 cash and the Worth Wicked Bat Bag prize package. Team Cuz started out their winning tournament run with a win over Spearmint Rhino 23-13. Team Cuz’ next two games were tough, closely fought wins over Courtesy Auto 12-11 and the Miken Aztecs 14-10. Team Cuz put their 3-0 record on the line against the Braves, the other 3-0 team in the winner´s bracket side of the draw. In what turned out to be the best game of the tourney both teams played a fantastic defensive game with Team Cuz edging the Braves 3-2. In the championship game Ice Holes were no match for Team Cuz losing in a rout 22-7.

Team Cuz’ Jeremy Herider was selected MVP and all tournament awards went to Tanner Trasper, Chris Powell and Tony Scuggs.

Ice Holes from Burbank, CA finished at 5-2 to take second place and win $1000.00 cash and Worth Insanity Hats. The Ice Holes had to go through the s´ bracket to reach the championship game after losing their first game of the tournament. Ice Holes named Chester Kingery, Alfonso Sixtos and Brandon Rodriguez to the all tournament team.

Braves from Palm Springs, CA took the third place with a 3-2 record and won Worth Asylum T-Shirts and custom team T-Shirts. The Braves only losses were to Ice Holes 11-10 and 3-2 to Team Cuz. Braves players named all tourney were Chris Santacruz, Rene Rosete and Rigo Castillo.

Wong’s from Santa Clarita, CA took fourth place and won Worth Asylum Hats. Named to theall tournament team for the Wong’s were Victor Villa and Chris Cattlett.

Tournament director and A&V Owner Al Acosta had this to say about the tournament series, "I would like to thank all the teams who played in the $10,000 A&V/Worth ‘Bash 4 Cash’ Tournament Series and a "Special Thank You" to Worth for sponsoring these tournaments." Acosta added, "Next year A&V Tournaments plan on having more money added to the ‘Bash 4 Cash’ tournament series along with more prizes. We will continue to put up the money and our sponsor Worth will give out all the prizes packages."
