GLENDALE, MESA AND PEORIA, AZ - Triple Crown Sports Fastpitch held their Super Diamonds-Baums’ Championship on June 11th and 12th with 56 teams in eight divisions. Riverview Park in Mesa, Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale and Rio Vista Park in Peoria hosted pool play on Saturday and competitive brackets on Sunday.
Silver Bullets of Avondale were undefeated (6-0) in the nine-team 10U division championship at Riverview, with Tucson’s AZ Cats coming in second with an overall record of 5-1.
The 12U ‘A’ division played at Sahuaro Ranch on Saturday and at Riverview on Sunday. Mesa’s EV Pride went 5-1 to win the championship in the three-team field while Scottsdale Fever took second with a 3-3 record.
Playing at Riverview all weekend, the 12U ‘B’ division had eight teams. Mesa Crush took top honors over the Superstition Bandits of Apache Junction with both teams having 4-1 records.
Both 14U divisions competed at Sahuaro Ranch over the weekend. There were 12 teams in 14U ‘A’. PV Premier of Paradise Valley had a 5-0-1 record to take the championship over Mesa’s Desert Wolves who finished 5-1. Four teams played in the 14U ‘B’ division with Desert Heat of Mesa (3-1) taking first place and Phoenix’s AZ Ravens coming in second at 2-2.
Rio Vista hosted the 16U divisions. In the 12-team 16U ‘A’ division AZ Ice of Phoenix won the championship, going 5-1, while AZ Outlaws-Sara of Phoenix took second with a 4-2 record. The four-team 16U ‘B’ champion was the undefeated (4-0) Mesa Trix and Phoenix’s Arcadia Crush came in second at 1-3.
The 18U ‘A’ division also played at Rio Vista with a California team, the San Diego Rowdies, going undefeated in the four-team field at 5-0. AZ Prospects of Phoenix took second with a 3-2 record.
